Cancarp has production tooling available for the following sizes and shapes of bimetallic components:-

Round disc (mm): 8.0, 8.33, 10.0, 11.1, 11.7, 12.0, 12.7, 13.5, 14.0, 15.0, 17.0, 19.0, 20.0, 21.0, 25.4, 30.0

Round edged rectangular (mm): 9.52 x 15.69

Cantilever shaped (mm): 8.63 x 15.69

We have semi-automatic machines available for bulk quantities of  the __  items above.

We have a small but well equipped engineering facility so we are capable of sampling to most other sizes both round and irregular shapes.

Most of the above discs are temperature set using a separate front and back forming process - this allows tighter control on both the set and reset temperature of the disc.

Our forming processes vary from using small hand operated presses to produce small quantities of discs though to fully automatic machines, built in our own workshop, to produce regular large quantities of discs.

Most of the formed discs are then checked 100% for set and reset temperature compliance, calibrated to better than ± 0.1 °C at temps up to 120°C and ± 0.2 °C up to 200°C. When the tolerances are more relaxed an A.Q.L. system is used which ensures quality and also significantly reduces the disc cost.

Minimum temperature for reset on large production runs is  - 2°C, although on small scale production runs we have the capability to manufacture and check small production runs of discs with temperatures as low as - 40°C.

A new process is available for manufacturing/checking small quantities of discs in the temperature range 200 to 450°C. - these discs currently have a maximum diameter of 12.7mm. This high temperature manufacturing capability is continuously being improved upon and we hope to be capable of full volume production shortly.

We have recently started to manufacture pressure sensitive snap discs in the range -1 to +10 bar and are keen to expand this area of business
